Thanks for cross-posting! And i know I’ve already said this, but you’ve done amazing work here.

Really eye-opening essay! I need to start looking at Bruce a bit differently now!

Thanks Dan! I'm sure none of this will be covered in the new biopic so thanks for reading.

Thanks for this, Jami and Max! I saw "the kiss" in '78 at Houston's Summit, during Springsteen's tour. I've never seen it referenced anywhere, so I appreciate all your documentation here, both in text and photos! I had begun to think maybe I imagined it (seeing what I thought I saw)! What I really love is Clarence's description from his AP interview! Perfect! It's exactly how I interpreted it....just two buds who really appreciate and love their relationship....each helping each other do the battle it takes to get thru 3+ hours of grueling performance! Bruce did what all of us wanted to do....show Clarence how much we appreciate his friendship and being all he was for Bruce on record, and in shows!

I never thought (and I'm convinced the largely hetero crowd thought likewise) that that kiss was anything even close to sexual, or anything other than a brave, honest, and sincere.....well, everything Clarence said! Thanks again, you two, for finally making that 47-year-old head-scratching mystery make sense!

I only know Bruce through his most well known songs, but I feel like I want to explore his music more after reading this.

I'm still trying to figure out who the last of the Duke Street Kings was.

This will DEFINITELY not be covered in the biopic. Great article!
